when we first moved here we tried to think sensibly about where we should live. we looked outside the city, we thought about going high up or low down the island.
then we threw all that out of the window and moved to chelsea. it's safe to say we absolutely LOVE where we live. right on the border of Chelsea and West Village (refer to map below!), which means as soon as you walk out of our street and turn a direction (ANY direction) you are in the middle of shops, restaurants, night spots. i still can't get over how we lucked out with our cute apartment.
we loved how much light the place got, it was incredibly spacious compared to everything else we had looked at in a similar price range (yes, really, 700 square feet was spacious to us. this is what we do to ourselves in NYC), the floors were beautiful, the bathroom tile was cute, the bedroom was big, the kitchen was a real kitchen (New Yorkers are famous for their lack of cooking... most kitchens had a microwave and a stove and that's it. Don't you remember Carrie using her oven as an extra closet? ps, it's actually a thing).
As you can imagine it took us 10 minutes to say we'll take it.
since neil and i were first married, we've been living in apartments that were already furnished (read: white walls and ikea furniture). so i knew that once we moved in to our NY apartment i wanted to REALLY decorate. and with HUGE help from my wonderfully fabulous and talented cousin mped I think it's safe to say our place is decorated! we love love love it.
