Neil started his job last week. I am absolutely thrilled for him. It's a great job and the perfect start to his career. To find a job like this, in finance, at a time like this show just how much he can offer and how talented he is. Can you tell I'm proud? Rather than me trying to explain the company, Instinet, I've stolen the description off of Investopedia:
Instinet (Nasdaq: INET) is Wall Street's oldest and largest electronic communications network (ECN), and since it was acquired by Reuters Group (Nasdaq: RTRSY) in 1987, it and other ECNs have evolved into major threats to the established stock exchanges.
Instinet is an electronic securities order matching (trading) and information system that allows members (primarily professional traders and investors) to display bid and offer quotes for stocks, and to transact between themselves using brokers. As a global securities
broker, Instinet enables more than 1,500 institutional customers to trade securities in more than 40 global markets.
The best perk? We work in the same building! Citi rents out part of its
second tower to different companies, and Instinet just happens to be one. Really couldn't get any better, since I don't get an hour lunch break we can at least meet up to quickly grab lunch or meet up when we both have a slower moment.

This also means we know we're hunkering down here in London for at least a few more years. It is great to know, because the past year and half we've been in limbo, not really sure whether we'd be here six months or six years. So we finally have that feeling... that feeling of (somewhat) permanence what we've been missing since we got married.
also gives everyone a little more time to come visit. nudge nudge...

Congrats Neil!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteSo, I might be hoping over to europe in February rather than go straight to Singapore. Depends on the job/money situation but I will keep you posted. I would love, love, love to see you both.
Congrats again, Neil. It really is great news!
