you can tell that i'm in my first semester of grad school by the lack of posts the past four months.
it's been a wild ride.
it's been a love-hate relationship these past four months. i'm going to wait until the end of the week (the end of finals) to tell you which side of the spectrum it ends on.
as of now - it's not looking good. thanks to technology in one week: my computer crashed, i've had to completely wipe my hard drive - losing the latest backups thanks to a glitch in our time machine. and now tonight, trying my best to be careful by saving everything to an external hard drive, i've just lost my final paper for a class thanks to a corrupt file (how does this even happen??).
needless to say it's not been a great week. so i'm taking a mental health break and finally getting back on the blog.
but. i LOVE my placement, i LOVE working day in and day out with people. i LOVE knowing that i'm on a track towards a career i'm passionate in.
i'm excited about my chosen path - clinical practice focusing on health, mental health, and disabilities. i spend three days a week doing individual and group counseling for homeless men with mental illness and substance abuse issues. in NYC. you can imagine how interesting my day gets!
so yes. a lot (most?) of the time i love being back in school
and hopefully by next week, i'll remember all that.
Sometimes we'd be better off with typewriters! Yikes... I can't wait till you come so we can celebrate surviving the semester together!
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear about your computer. Good luck with your finals!
