every time i go this long without updating, the idea of updating everything from then to now seems too intimidating to ever try. so this is the brief, highlighted, catch up post to just get it out of the way.
and apparently my life will from now on only be documented through fake hipster looking photos thanks to instagram
we've had a few fun adventures so far. neil and i travelled back to utah for becky's wedding. it was a blast and we are thrilled to welcome joel into the family! becky is one of my favorite people ever. i guess i can say that about every single member in the mertlich clan (i'm pretty lucky, i know!) but becky and i love to tell everyone we are twins. we share the same birthday and far too many personality traits. i loved being there to celebrate her big day!
i get to call these girls my sister. i feel like i won the in-law lottery.
and we all know how much i love these two.
every time i get back to utah i remember just how much i love that
place. we went hiking, biking, ate at cafe rio every other day. nikki
and i even jumped in the car and headed down to vegas for some much
needed R&R between semesters (nikki is also in grad school and has
to complete a summer semester). it was a blast. we grew up wishing were further apart in age (14 months and trying to assert your own individuality and live your own life? not easy). now i'm THRILLED to have someone so close in age who understands me so well. love her.
we all know i'm horrendous at taking pictures (if morgan's wasn't around, i wouldn't have any photos of my life), and this is the only shot i took of the whole vegas weekend. i guess what happens in vegas?
we've also taken advantage of some NY adventures.
yankees game with some of our fav new yorkers. you can tell by our jackets that NY wasn't feeling so springy that day. but it was still a blast.
amateur night at the apollo
shakespeare in the park (incredible!)
memorial day up in new canaan, CT thanks to the invitation of some fabulous friends we met in london. how do i not have photos from that weekend? fail. it was a total blast.
yesterday i grabbed a zip car and headed up to CT. my first driving adventure in the city and i loved it! people are aggressive and actually know how to drive. it's amazing.
and this weekend we are headed up to the hamptons with another two new york favorites to celebrate a birthday and upcoming wedding! can't wait for another weekend out of the city and so that i can finally say i've been to the hamptons.
ok phew. all caught up.
