signs you are becoming a new yorker
it takes more than 8 different sirens to go by before you perk up your head and wonder what is going on
you know which side of the street to walk on and where to cross to avoid that *smell*
a quick day trip means heading to a different state
if your building has an elevator and a washer and dryer in the basement, you are living large... an extra 500 points if you have a dishwasher
when you check google maps and it gives you a walking time of 30 minutes or less you automatically think "hey, that's not too bad"

you don't really remember what road rage feels like. but tourist rage happens daily
you think, "oh I could TOTALLY do kids if we had a one bedroom"
it doesn't phase you that you don't need to ask your neighbors how they are doing - you've been hearing their conversations through the walls all day, every day
20 bucks for a dinner sounds like a steal
crazy doesn't faze you. that guy in the neon green suit and purple top hat? the man trying to save your soul on the train? just a normal part of your evening commute
subway rats are starting to look cute
need to head north/south? no big deal. east/west? yeah. not happening
